Overview
The ION job board is where Job Posters advertise capture work and iGUIDE Pros bid for it. Anyone can read the board, but only iGUIDE Pros can bid, and a few details stay hidden until a bid is accepted.
This article covers what you can see before bidding, how to find jobs that suit you, how to submit and manage a bid, and how the work runs from booking through to delivery and review.
You need an account with the Find Work (Pro) role to bid. See How to sign up for ION.

What you can see before you bid
Anyone can see this on a job posting, including people who are not signed in and have no account:
- The project city and state or province
- The industry, property type, approximate area and number of floors
- The dates needed by, and the price range
- The deliverables and capture requirements requested
- How many bids the job has received
Only the iGUIDE Pro whose bid is accepted can see:
- The project's full street address, released at the moment the bid is accepted
Only the Job Poster can see:
- The bid amounts. iGUIDE Pros can see how many bids a job has, never what they are.
Nobody else can see these at all:
- The Job Poster's name, company and contact details, which never appear on the listing
- Messages between a Job Poster and an iGUIDE Pro
- Delivered files
The address here is the property being captured, not the Job Poster's business address, and it is never made public.
Two consequences worth planning around:
- You are bidding on a city, not an address. You know a job is in Owings Mills, MD, not which building. If travel distance materially changes your price, say so in your bid note or ask through messages first.
- No one else can see your bid. Because bid amounts are private to the Job Poster, there is no advantage in guessing at a low number to undercut other Pros. Bid your real, accurate price. A fair bid you can deliver on wins more work over time than a low one you regret.
Finding jobs
Browse the job board at ion.goiguide.com/job-board. The page splits in two: the list of jobs on the left, and the full detail of the selected job on the right.
Narrow the list with:
- Location search, by city or postal code
- Industry, or all industries
- Distance slider, defaulting to 75 km
- Filter chips: Needed this week, Just posted, Rush job, Residential, Commercial, Under 3,000 sqft
- Saved, to show only jobs you bookmarked with the Save button
Or wait for the email. ION automatically emails iGUIDE Pros when a job is posted in their area. The matching runs on your service area and industry, so keep those current. See Your ION profile: setup and management.
Reading a job posting
Each card shows the size, property type and city, the price range, the dates, the bid count and how long ago it was posted. Open one and the detail panel gives you:
- Property and job details: industry, location, property type, approximate area, number of floors and date needed by
- Deliverables: what the Job Poster expects to receive
- Capture requirements: the horizontal and vertical scans requested
- Tag assets: the interior and exterior items to tag
You can also Save a job to come back to it, or Share it.
Read the capture requirements and tag assets in full. They are the specification your delivery is measured against, and they are the usual reason a Job Poster requests a revision.
A job posting has no free-text field. Everything a Job Poster can specify sits in the structured fields above, so a posting will not tell you about site access, parking, gate codes, whether the building is occupied or whether you need a ladder. Use Message to ask before you bid.
Submitting a bid
Select Submit a bid on the job detail panel to open the bid form.
| Field | Required | What to enter |
| Service fee | Yes | Your base charge for the job |
| Extra fees | No | A label and an amount, for example "Travel" and $100. Use + Add fee for more than one. |
| When can you start? | Yes | A date. The form shows the Job Poster's window underneath. |
| Anything else you want to include | No | A note to the Job Poster |
| Total fee | Calculated | ION adds your service fee and extras together |
Itemize your extras rather than folding them into the base fee. Job Posters compare bids side by side, and a clear breakdown reads better than one large number.
The note field is where you set expectations. Something like "My base fee is $200 and travel is $100. I ask for half upfront and charge a $50 cancellation fee" covers price, deposit and cancellation in one line.
Message sits next to Submit bid in the same form, so you can ask a question instead of bidding if something is unclear.
Once you submit, the Job Poster is notified and your bid appears in their Active Bids with your profile, rating, badges, total fee and start date.
Where your bids and jobs live
Go to My Jobs. If your account is both an iGUIDE Pro and a Job Poster, use the Viewing as switch at the top and set it to Pro.
| Tab | What is in it |
| Active bids | Bids you have submitted that have not been accepted or declined |
| Active work | Jobs you have been booked for, through to delivery |
| Completed jobs | Finished work |
Changing or withdrawing a bid
Either is fine any time before the Job Poster accepts. Update your bid and they are notified it changed. Withdraw it and they are notified you withdrew. Once a bid is accepted the job is booked and both options are gone.
After your bid is accepted
You are emailed, and the job moves to Active work. The project's full street address is released to you at this point.
The Job Poster can still cancel or reschedule a booked job, so confirm the date through messages before you commit your schedule.
Doing the work and delivering files
The workflow runs in a fixed order.
- Capture. Visit the property and perform the scans.
- Mark as Capture Done. Tell ION the fieldwork is finished.
- Deliver Files. Upload the deliverables through the file delivery dialog.
Deliver Files stays locked until you mark the capture done. If you cannot find the upload option, that is why.
The Job Poster is emailed that their deliverables are ready. Both of you then see a Delivered Files section with View and Download links. Delivered files are private to the two of you.
The job status timeline runs: Scheduled, then Awaiting delivery, then Delivered, then Completed.
If a Job Poster requests a revision
- Request a revision means they want something redone. The job shows as Revision requested.
- Flag as incomplete means they are reporting the delivery does not match the order.
Message them to confirm exactly what they need, then re-deliver. Once they mark the job complete, they can no longer request a revision or open a dispute.
Getting paid and getting reviewed
ION does not process or hold payments. The Job Poster and the iGUIDE Pro agree a price through the bid, then settle directly between themselves.
Because payment happens away from ION, deposits, invoicing and cancellation terms are for the two parties to agree. Set them out in the bid note or in messages before work starts.
If the delivered work is not right, the Job Poster has two tools before the job is marked complete. Request a revision asks the iGUIDE Pro to redo or fix something. Flag as incomplete reports that the delivery does not match what was ordered. Both notify the iGUIDE Pro so they can re-deliver. Neither is available once the job is marked complete, so check the files first.
Disagreements about money are between the Job Poster and the iGUIDE Pro and are governed by the ION Terms of Service. iGUIDE does not hold funds and cannot reverse a payment made away from the platform. If you have any concerns about another member, contact iGUIDE Support.
After the Job Poster marks the job complete they can leave a star rating and written review, tagged to the deliverables it covers. Reviews are public on your profile and feed into how Job Posters choose between Pros.
