Overview

A successful iGUIDE shoot starts with the right gear. A PLANIX Camera System, a tripod, a smart device, and the PLANIX app installed on it form the core kit, with a few optional extras to make the day go smoother.

Together, these items give you everything you need to capture an accurate, complete scan of a property from start to finish.

What is Considered Necessary and Recommended Equipment? 

Necessary equipment

These items are required for every iGUIDE shoot, regardless of which camera you use:

1. PLANIX Camera System
2. Tripod
3. Smart Device (Phone or Tablet)
4. PLANIX App Installed on the Smart Device 

Recommended Equipment

These items aren't required but make shoots easier and more reliable:

1. Door Stop
   • Holds open self-closing or swinging doors so passageways stay clear
2. Extra Camera Battery (R1)/ Camera Battery Charger
   • Prevents battery drops below 20% on longer sessions (use spare batteries for the R1, charger for the PLANIX Pro).
3. Smart Devices Charger
4. Tape Measure 
   • Measures exterior wall thickness on site, which is then entered during stitching or site capture

Q: How should I mount my camera to the tripod?
A: We recommend using a Ball Head Camera Mount to help with both vertical and horizontal scans.
