What is Considered Necessary and Recommended Equipment?
Necessary equipment
Pieces of equipment that are used to complete an iGUIDE shooting session no matter what camera you own. This includes:
- PLANIX Camera System
- Tripod
- Smart Device (Phone or Tablet)
- PLANIX App Installed on the Smart Device
Recommended Equipment
Items that are not always necessary to have for a successful iGUIDE shooting session, but are handy to have. The list of recommended equipment are as follows:
- Door Stop
- Extra Camera Battery (If it Uses Batteries)
- Camera Battery Charger
- Smart Devices Charger
- Tape Measure
Examples
- We recommend using a door stop to ensure that doors which automatically close or swing shut on their own remain open. This helps keep the doorway accessible and prevents the door from obstructing passage unintentionally.
- The tape measure is used on site to determine the thickness of exterior walls. This measurement is then entered into the project while Stitching the data or capturing data during the site visit.
Important Notes
- Please note that it is important to never let your battery life of the camera go below 20% as this could lead to errors. This is why bringing either an extra battery (for the R1) or the camera charger (for the PLANIX Pro) is recommended, especially for longer shooting sessions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How should I mount my camera to the tripod?
A: We recommend using a Ball Head Camera Mount to help with both vertical and horizontal scans.
