Overview
This article explains how to physically measure the exterior wall thickness of a property so it can be entered into Stitch or Survey. Using a tape measure at an exterior doorway, you measure from the outer cladding to the interior wall surface, being careful to exclude any trim from the measurement.
Wall thickness is important because it affects how accurately floor areas are calculated. By measuring and setting the correct wall thickness, we ensure that both interior and exterior areas are represented properly on floor plans. This helps create reliable, professional results and avoids misleading measurements, especially when comparing properties or meeting industry standards.
