Setting Up the Camera and Tripod
- Start by setting up your tripod and leveling the ball head mount. Attach the quick-release (QR) plate to the PLANIX camera, then secure the QR plate to the tripod’s ball head.
- Adjust the tripod height so that the PLANIX camera lens is approximately 4.5 ft (130–140 cm) from the floor. This height provides optimal measurement accuracy and delivers a consistent virtual walkthrough experience.
- When needed, adjust the tripod height to avoid obstacles and ensure the lidar properly interacts with surrounding walls—verify scan quality in Survey as you go. For consistency, return the tripod to the default height (4.5 ft) after making any adjustments.
