How do I Duplicate my iGUIDE View?
Similar to Unlisted iGUIDE Views, Protected Views and Viewer Lists duplicating iGUIDE Views allows a user to create multiple editable Views of an iGUIDE using unique URLs. iGUIDE user Views can be created or duplicated for many purposes, such as:
- Limiting what is shown within an iGUIDE View (such as separating apartment units) whilst also having an iGUIDE for the entire building as a whole.
- Providing different Views for different clients (E.g. One View showing all panos for clients and colleagues, but a different view showing fewer panos for the public).
- Where renovations are happening to a property, if documenting each stage, you may be able to separate each stage of construction into its own iGUIDE View.
To Duplicate or Create a New View
Step 1: Log into the iGUIDE portal.
Step 2: Click on the title of the iGUIDE you wish to edit in the "My iGUIDEs" section. This will take you to the "Show iGUIDE Details" page.
Step 3: Click the Duplicate button.
Step 4: You should receive confirmation of duplication. Click on the dropdown menu to choose which Duplicate View you wish to select.
Step 5: As previously mentioned, any edits you make to the Duplicate do not link back to the original. This means that you can show or hide floors on the main iGUIDE and the duplicate independently, for example:
-
You have an apartment building with 3 units. For the Default View, your client wishes to show all 3 units (this may be for an internal website not accessible to the public) but for the public eye they want to limit what can be seen; this means you can create 3 duplicates, one for each floor.
- Main iGUIDE View (#1): All floors showing - Internal
- View #2 - Show only unit 1 (hide Units 2 & 3 on this View)
- View #3 - Show only unit 2 (hide Units 1 & 3 on this View)
- View #4 - Show only unit 3 (hide Units 1 & 2 on this View)
- This can be useful when a unit is rented out; the specific View related to the unit can be locked independently without affecting the main iGUIDE or other Views.
Note: Duplicating an iGUIDE View is exactly as it sounds if you have an iGUIDE View set up with certain panos, labels, floors or any other editable element of an iGUIDE customized, “Duplicating” the View will copy all the settings over. However, these changes are not linked to the Views. Therefore you can edit the new View to be even more refined (limit what floors are visible, enable or disable extra panos etc.)
How do I Change my iGUIDE's Address and Google Pin?
Step 1: While viewing your iGUIDE Portal entry, click on 'Show iGUIDE Details' in the top-left of your screen to get back to the iGUIDE Details page.
Step 2: Click on the blue Edit button to the right of the Property Address. This is the Edit Property page where the new address will be entered.
Step 3: Enter the new property address. Under the Map preview, Click to select the 'Auto' function to update the map pin location to your newly entered property address. Click Save when done.
- NOTE: Sometimes Google Maps will not automatically place the map pin accurately upon selecting 'auto'. This may happen when dealing with newly built or remote properties. To manually place the map pin, simply uncheck the 'auto' option and click and drag the map pin to your preferred location.
How Do I Change my iGUIDE's URL?
If the iGUIDE URL is changed, then anywhere the iGUIDE URL was shared will no longer work. This is because the old URL won’t exist once the change has been made. For example, if the link has been uploaded to a website, social media, or an MLS service it will need to be replaced.
Step 1: To change the URL, click on 'Show iGUIDE Details' in the top-left of the screen to return to the iGUIDE Details page.
Step 2: Click on the small blue pencil icon in the top right-hand corner of the page beside the iGUIDE URL.
Step 3: The Edit Alias for Default View page will open. Enter your preferred iGUIDE URL to match the new address for the iGUIDE.
Step 4: Click the blue Save button to the right of the text field to save the changes.
- Note: It is recommended to re-send the iGUIDE Report after these changes have been made to the iGUIDE URL, in order to share the correct links. Click on the iGUIDE View Report tab on the left-hand side of the page and click the blue Send button to send the updated iGUIDE Report.
