Overview
Operators can download Stitch data from the iGUIDE Portal within 14 days of an iGUIDE being published, allowing them to reopen, edit, and re-upload the file as needed. This functionality is helpful when corrections or refinements are required after publication, providing a simple way to retrieve the original .tar file directly from the project.
This guide walks through the steps to download Stitch data, reopen it in Stitch, export your changes, and re-upload the updated file to the Portal, along with troubleshooting tips for common download issues.
Before You Begin
Make sure the following requirements are met before starting:
- You have access to a published iGUIDE within the Portal
- The iGUIDE was published less than 14 days ago
Downloading and Re-uploading Stitch Data
Follow these steps to retrieve your Stitch data, edit it, and return the updated file to the Portal:
- Navigate to your iGUIDE's Stitch Data section and click the "Download stored file" button to begin downloading the .tar file stored on the Portal
- Open the .tar file in Stitch by clicking Load Project and selecting the downloaded file (ensure you are running the latest version of Stitch if it does not open)
- Make any necessary edits within Stitch, then click the Export button
- Locate the new folder created in the same location as the original .tar file, open the export folder inside it, and find the stitch.tar file
- Re-upload the new stitch.tar file to the Portal
Troubleshooting
Issue: Clicking "Download stored file" does not begin a download.
Solution: Confirm the iGUIDE was published within the past 14 days. Files older than 14 days are no longer available for download
