Overview
The Replace Pano Images tool on the iGUIDE Portal lets you download a panorama from a published iGUIDE, edit it, and upload the edited version back into the 3D tour. The replacement takes the place of the original pano in the live tour, in the same position and viewing angle.
This guide covers what you can use pano replacement for, the image requirements your edited file must meet, and the steps to replace a pano.

Common Uses
- Virtual staging: Add, remove or change furniture and décor in an empty or outdated room.
- Improving photo quality: Adjust color, brightness, exposure or contrast.
- Removing unwanted content: Hide personal or sensitive information, or remove people, pets, or equipment such as the tripod.
Note: Pano image replacement is only available after the iGUIDE is published, and is only meant for re-uploading an edited version of the same pano. Do not use it to upload new scans, even if you return to the property and scan from the same position. Small differences in camera angle and other details from the original pano can cause the tour to display incorrectly. To add new panos, request a draft update so the drafting team can add them.
Before You Start
Keep a backup of the original, unedited panorama or project folder. Once a pano is replaced on the Portal, the original is overwritten and can no longer be downloaded from that pano.
Image Requirements
Your edited panorama must meet these requirements to upload successfully and display correctly in the tour:
- Aspect ratio: Exactly 2:1 (width is twice the height)
-
Resolution:
- PLANIX Pro / IMS-6: 7200 × 3600 pixels
- R1: 11,008 × 5,504 pixels
- File format: .JPG or .JPEG
- Color profile: sRGB
- File size: Ideally around 10 MB or less. If the file is larger, slightly reduce the JPEG quality when exporting.
Tip: If your editing software has an "Export at Original Size" option, you can use it to keep the correct resolution.
How to Replace a Pano Image
Step 1: Download the original pano
- Log in to the iGUIDE Portal and go to My iGUIDEs.
- Click the blue Edit button with the pencil icon on the iGUIDE you want to change.
- On the left hand menu, click Replace Pano Images.
- In the preview, select the blue or red dot for the pano you want to edit, and confirm it in the preview on the right.
- Scroll down and click the Download icon in the middle of the image. Save a backup copy.
Step 2: Edit or stage the pano
- Edit the pano in your preferred software, or send the original file to your virtual staging editor.
- Furniture, décor, color and brightness can be changed, but the image dimensions, aspect ratio and canvas boundaries must stay the same.
- Export the finished image using the requirements above.
Step 3: Upload the edited pano
- Return to Replace Pano Images and select the same pano.
- Under the Uploaded Images heading, drag and drop the edited image, or click to browse for it.
- Confirm the correct image was uploaded and click the blue Save button.
Note: If the pano does not update, clear your browser's cache and refresh the page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why am I getting an error when I upload my edited pano?
A: The image most likely does not meet the requirements. Check that it has a 2:1 aspect ratio, the correct resolution for your camera, the sRGB color profile, and a file size of around 10 MB or less. If it meets all of these and still won't upload, contact Support.
Q: Can I get the original pano back after replacing it?
A: No. The original is overwritten on the Portal, so keep a backup before uploading the edited version.
Q: The furniture in my staged pano looks warped or out of place. Why?
A: The canvas may have been cropped, resized or shifted during staging. Ask your editor to work on the original file at its full size without changing the dimensions or canvas boundaries.
Q: Can I replace several panos at once?
A: No. Panos are replaced one at a time. Repeat the steps for each pano.
