What is included in purchasing an R1 camera unit? 

The R1 camera includes:

Important Notes

  • When charging the R1, please make sure to be using the original USB-C cable and power supply that was sent with the R1. Using different cables or power supplies may cause the battery to not charge.  

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I hot swap the R1 Battery?  
A: While the R1 features a quick-release battery, it cannot be hot-swapped (i.e. replaced while the system is powered on). To change the R1 battery you must turn off the system first before switching the battery. 

Q: Can I use the Theta X on the R1 independently?  
A: For the PLANIX Pro, the Theta Z1 could be detached from the system unit and used as a standalone camera with the Ricoh Theta app. However, with the PLANIX R1, the Theta X is fully integrated into the system. It is neither user-replaceable nor removable. If a replacement is needed, please send the system to us for servicing by opening a support ticket.
