Overview
This section is focused on how to update the PLANIX Pro's firmware either by downloading the firmware via the iGUIDE downloads page, or by the PLANIX App.
Before You Begin
- Make sure to have a computer turned on and ready to use.
- Ensure the PLANIX Pro's battery charge is above 25%.
Steps
Firmware Update Procedure via Computer:
Step 1: Go to goiguide.com/downloads and click on the Latest Firmware link under the iGUIDE PLANIX heading.
Step 2: The firmware will now download.
Step 3: If one exists, delete the old fw6_update.7z file from your USB flash drive.
Step 4: Copy the new system firmware file onto your USB flash drive.
Step 5: Ensure that the file is named exactly fw6_update.7z. The file should be placed at the root of the USB drive (i.e. not in any of your project folders).
Step 6: Safely eject the USB flash drive from the computer to avoid file corruption.
Step 7: Insert the USB flash drive into the PLANIX and power it on.
Step 8: Browse to the Survey app & go to the Settings tab.
Step 9: Scroll down and press the Update Firmware button.
Step 10: Once complete, close Survey and reconnect to the system to begin using the new firmware.
Firmware Update Procedure via the PLANIX App:
Step 1: Go into the PLANIX App.
Step 2: Connect to the PLANIX Pro camera.
Step 3: Click on the picture of the PLANIX Pro camera in the "Devices" section once you have connected to the camera.
