Overview
The Survey Settings menu inside the PLANIX app gives Operators control over how their iGUIDE camera captures and communicates during a shoot. Settings include coverage display, live lidar viewing, unit preferences, Wi-Fi band selection, power saving options, auto alignment, and on PLANIX Pro, factory reset.
This guide walks through every Survey Setting and where to find it, helping Operators tailor the camera to their workflow, extend battery life, ensure accurate alignment, and confirm device firmware and serial details for support and reference purposes.

How do I Find Survey Settings?
- Connect to your camera through the PLANIX app
- Open Survey
- Tap the hamburger menu in the top-right corner Select Settings
Survey Setting Overview
- Coverage Opacity — Shows blue shading on the lidar data to indicate scan coverage; slide right to darken, left to remove
- Show Live Lidar Data — View lidar data before capturing a pano
- Quiet Mode — Disables capture beeps Units — Switch between inches and centimeters (typically used for wall thickness entry)
- Wi-Fi Band — Choose 2.4 GHz (better range) or 5 GHz (better performance)
- Region — Adjust regional settings as needed
- Access Point Name — Rename the device's Wi-Fi network
- Wi-Fi Password — Update the device password for added security
- Power Off Timeout — Set how long the camera waits before powering off when idle
- Power Saving Mode — Conserves battery when the camera is inactive
- Auto Align — Should remain enabled; pair with Alignment Alerts for real-time notifications of alignment issues
- Reset to Factory Settings (PLANIX Pro only) — Restores the camera to factory defaults; erases all custom settings
Important Notes
- The bottom of Survey Settings displays your camera firmware version, device serial number, 360 camera model, 360 camera version, and 360 camera serial number
- On the PLANIX Pro, the HDR settings are also located inside Survey Settings
