Understanding Google Street View
Google Street View is a software tool that allows users to virtually explore panoramic views of neighbourhoods, cities, and locations around the world from any device. It is integrated within Google Maps and Google Earth, providing interactive 360-degree images captured by Google's own teams and partners. The technology enables users to take virtual tours of locations, enhancing the way they navigate and explore the world.
Requirements to Export to Google Street View
Before starting the export, make sure the following are in place:
- A commercial property with a valid address
- An active Google Business Profile
- A published iGUIDE
Exporting an iGUIDE to Google Street View
Follow these steps to send your iGUIDE to Google Street View:
- Select the published iGUIDE you want to export within the iGUIDE Portal
- Click "Street View"
- Click "New Project" and then click "Start"
- Select the floors and panos you wish to include in the export
- Arrange the floors in order from top to bottom as they should appear when the building is viewed from the side, using drag and drop to set the order
- Align the floors on Google Maps so they correspond accurately to the property location
- Select your Google Place by searching for your business name (you cannot export to Google Maps without selecting a Google Place)
- Sign in with Google and export to Google Maps
