Overview
A Reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP) is an architectural drawing that shows a space's ceiling layout. Unlike typical floor plans, which depict walls, doors and windows, an RCP focuses solely on ceiling elements and is mirrored to match the floor plan below.
This article covers what the Reflected Ceiling Plan is, what is included with the deliverable, where the add-on is available and important notes about delivery and software compatibility.

What a Reflected Ceiling Plan Is
A Reflected Ceiling Plan is a drafted architectural drawing focused on the ceiling of a space, presented as a mirrored view of the floor plan. It is commonly used by architects, designers and contractors for lighting, bulkhead and ceiling-height planning. For a full breakdown of file contents, see the Reflected Ceiling Plan Deliverables document.

Important Notes
Keep these points in mind when ordering a Reflected Ceiling Plan:
- The Reflected Ceiling Plan is typically ready an additional 1 day after the DWG, 3D Model or Advanced Drawing Package, depending on the size and complexity of the property and the current volume of iGUIDEs in the queue
- The file is formatted to guarantee function with AutoCAD — functionality with other CAD software cannot be guaranteed
- Chief Architect can import DWG and DXF files. We provide files in standard 2018 DWG format for broad compatibility, but we don't support external software platforms—any compatibility issues, version mismatches, or import errors are outside our scope.
