Latest PLANIX R1 Updates

The PLANIX R1 has received a series of updates and enhancements since the beginning of the year, further solidifying its reputation as a reliable and robust capture system.

These improvements culminate in our latest update, which includes: • Improved data transfers in noisy WiFi environments with better handling of failed transfers including automatic and manual retry options • Survey previews now reflect final scans more accurately after noise reduction

Verisk Xactimate Virtual Walkthrough Integration

The iGUIDE Virtual Walkthrough is now accessible directly within Verisk’s Xactimate.

Upon creation, any iGUIDE Instant Sketch, Standard Sketch or Premium Sketch will have the virtual walkthrough URL embedded within it. Loading the ESX file into Xactimate will create a separate window within Xactimate containing the virtual walkthrough alongside the sketch.

What is the benefit of this integration? You can save time and increase efficiency by gaining instant access to the virtual walkthrough directly within Xactimate removing the need to switch between browser tabs and Xactimate.

The virtual walkthrough is a valuable resource for remote visual inspection and measurement to improve claims accuracy and efficiency. It allows you to: • Verify the true extent of the damage • Verify wall, ceiling and floor materials • Use on-screen measurements to define any details in 3D space • Access tags showing essential details such as moisture readings or thermal imaging • Eliminate repeat visits • Speed up dispute resolution

How do I access the iGUIDE Virtual Walkthrough from within Xactimate?

  1. Open the Xactimate Software and log-in

  2. Open the Sketch for the property

  3. Once the Project is Open, click on the "Integrations" tab on the screen to the left of the floor plan to open the iGUIDE Tour

SLAM Now Available on the PLANIX Pro!

PLANIX R1 users will already be familiar with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping). This feature has now been released for the PLANIX Pro!

The new SLAM feature helps users understand the camera's position in relation to previous scans, giving a sense of how well future scans will match up. This is achieved by tracking the camera’s position in real-time using 2D depth measurements (captured by a time-of-flight LiDAR sensor), which builds a simplified map of the area. This data helps the system calculate how well a new scan will align with what has already been scanned.

Real-Time Camera Positioning The SLAM system uses live depth data from the camera’s 2D LiDAR sensor along with previously captured scans to locate the camera on a floor plan. Tracking begins once at least one scan has been completed, and the camera’s position will only display on the screen if the “show live lidar data” option is enabled in the app.
