How to request an Instant Sketch, what it is, and frequently asked questions

What is iGUIDE Instant Sketch?

iGUIDE Instant Sketch is a solution for those needing a rapid way to begin the sketching process in Xactimate. Property data can be captured and processed in minutes instead of hours greatly increasing the speed of estimating.

The process has three main steps:

  1. Capture property data using your PLANIX camera system.

  2. Submit that data for processing through the iGUIDE Portal and obtain your Xactimate token.

  3. Load the token into Xactimate and pull the data directly from the cloud.

How to get an Instant Sketch

Capturing data using the iGUIDE camera system is identical to the data capture procedure for any other iGUIDE project. Detailed instructions are available for capturing data subject to the requirements of the situation and property. Once sufficient data is captured and ready, the process will resemble the following steps:

First, on the iGUIDE Portal

  1. Select Create iGUIDE on the main menu.

  2. Select Instant Sketch from the package dropdown menu (see figure 1)

  3. Add data to all remaining required fields

  4. Select the project file

  5. Click the Create iGUIDE button

  6. When the creation process is complete, copy the authentication token from the ESX page, notification email (see figure 2), or the iGUIDE property report.

Lastly, in Xactimate

  1. Create a Project.

  2. Click the Request Data button and select “Property Data”.

  3. Select “iGUIDE” in the Provider dropdown box.*

  4. Fill in the boxes and paste the token in the “Notes/Instructions” section.

  5. Wait until a notification occurs.

  6. Open the project and import the newly obtained data.

* During the BETA period, iGUIDE needs to be manually enabled by Verisk before you can select it. Please create a support ticket if you cannot select iGUIDE as a provider.

FAQ

Can I create an Instant Sketch from an iGUIDE Standard or Premium?

No, Instant Sketch is a standalone package and is not compatible with any other iGUIDE packages. However, an Xactimate ESX file can be requested from other packages.

Can I upgrade my Instant Sketch to something with more detail?

Yes, you can request an upgrade at any time to a Standard or Premium iGUIDE with an ESX Add-on; go to your iGUIDE's Package & Add-ons page to request an upgrade. Standard and Premium ESX files have more detail than Instant Sketch.

How long does it take to get my Instant Sketch imported into Xactimate?

It should occur within minutes although property size may impact the processing time.

Can Instant Sketch be used for any type of property?

There is a size limit of 5,000 ft² and a scan limit of 75 scans.

My token didn’t work. What do I do now?

Follow the instructions found in the Verisk Xactimate error message.

Is the square footage of my Instant Sketch accurate?

Area calculations are approximate.

Can I realign, add or remove data and reprocess my Instant Sketch?

Yes, you can re-upload data to an existing Instant Sketch and it will be reprocessed. This is useful for instances where you may not have captured enough data and wish to go back and add more. You may also wish to align data differently to improve your results.

Parts of my Instant Sketch look strange, can I send it back to you to change it?

Please reach out to Verisk Xactimate Support, they will guide you through making any adjustments needed to your Sketch. iGUIDE Instant Sketch is generated by AI, so there may be some areas that need adjustment while the AI learns and improves over time.
