PLANIX Pro lens calibration is a procedure done by Planitar technicians and is not to be confused with 360° camera alignment - a procedure and option in PLANIX Survey settings which can be performed by the user.
PLANIX has a built-in lens to lidar alignment procedure which accounts for small rotations of the Theta Z1 camera in relation to the PLANIX lidar scanner. Proper camera lens-to-lidar alignment ensures that, in the iGUIDE Viewer, a room corner on the floor plan matches the corresponding room corner in a 360° image. This alignment (or lack of) is easiest to see in Measure Mode 1 - place a mouse cursor on a room corner in the floorplan and see that the vertical red line shown over the 360° image should be over the corresponding room corner.
360° camera alignment can be performed by visiting the Survey Settings menu as needed and should always be done any time the Theta Z1 was removed and re-installed (or replaced with another Z1). The Z1 camera is user replaceable (with loss of Planitar lens calibration if a user-supplied Z1 is used).
