How to add tags to old projects

This article explains how to add tags to a project captured prior to the release of the RTT-supported FW (pre 1.6.10).

  1. Open Survey and create a NEW project (Project title example: 560 Parkside Drive Waterloo, ON_UPDATE). Note: Do NOT add scans to the original project. You MUST create a new project using the latest firmware.

  2. Create floors as per usual (for example; any pano taken on the main floor should be placed on the ‘Main Floor’ of the property. Note: Scans will not be aligned if you are only capturing rooms on a per-needs basis. It should be expected that the scans will be overlapping and not aligned in Survey. Proceed to continue capturing the property and RTTs.

  3. Place your RTTs as per the instructions set out in the Real-Time TaggingKBA When you are finished capturing the new data, shut down the PLANIX and remove the USB after the system has been fully shut down

  4. Insert the USB into your computer and then copy the project folder from your USB to your computer

  5. Merge the projects

  6. You will now have a new building at the bottom of the left side of the screen. Here is where you will be able to left-click on the scans in the new building/floor and drag them to the appropriate place

  7. Now, you need to rename each pano with a prefix of ‘ _UPDATE’ to differentiate between the original scans and the updates. This will help you to organize the scans while avoiding unnecessary additional pano update costs. Right-click on each pano and rename it. Scans must be renamed individually. You can copy the text ‘_UPDATE’ and paste it into the text section when renaming the scans.

  8. Once you have completed this process, you can now select all the updated scans and left-click and drag them to the original floor. For example ‘Main Floor_UPDATE’ Scans can be selected and moved to the ‘Main Floor’ in the original building.

Doing this should allow you to place the scans more easily on the floorplan. Be sure to cross-reference the placement of the scans and ensure they are in the correct locations before saving and exporting your project.
