Creating an Xactimate Sketch with iGUIDE

How to convert your iGUIDE floor plan to an Xactimate Sketch.

Step-By-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Capture 360 photos of the property using an iGUIDE camera system.

  • If you don't have an iGUIDE camera system, you can to learn more.

  • For help getting started with your iGUIDE camera system, .

Step 2: Create your iGUIDE in the iGUIDE Portal.

  • Log into the .

  • Select the "Create iGUIDE" tab at the top of the page.

  • Select Insurance & Restoration as the Property Industry.

  • Choose your iGUIDE Package:

    • iGUIDE Instant Sketch – an AI-drafted sketch, ready in minutes

    • iGUIDE Standard Sketch – an expert drafted sketch, ready in hours

    • iGUIDE Premium Sketch – an expert drafted sketch, ready in hours including fixtures like cabinets and countertops

  • for a more detailed description of the packages listed above.

Step-By-Step to Request an Instant Sketch:

Step-By-Step to Request an Instant Sketch:

  1. Select Insurance & Restoration as the property industry, and then Instant Sketch from the package dropdown menu (see figure 1).

  1. Add data to all remaining required fields.

  2. Select the project file.

  3. Click the Create iGUIDE button.

  4. When the creation process is complete, copy the authentication token from the ESX page, notification email (see figure 2), or the iGUIDE property report.

Lastly, in Xactimate

  1. Create a Project.

  2. Click the Request Data button and select “Property Data”.

  3. Select “iGUIDE” in the Provider dropdown box.*

  1. Fill in the boxes and paste the token in the “Notes/Instructions” section.

  2. Wait until a notification occurs.

  3. Open the project and import the newly obtained data.

  1. Check the Xactimate ESX paid add-on checkbox when creating your iGUIDE.

  1. Upon checking this box, you will be notified that the charge for your requested ESX file will only be processed once the file has been generated and is ready for download. Click Enable to continue.

Once you have enabled the ESX feature, another notification will pop up asking you if you would like to request the ESX file to be sketched and ready within 24 hours or if you would prefer to have it ready at a later time. Click “Request ESX” or “Not Yet,” depending on your desired outcome. If you have clicked “Request ESX,” you can skip step 5 on this list.

  1. Your ESX file will be generated within 24 hours; please check the Xactimate tool after 24 hours have passed to find your download link. To download your most recent ESX file, click on the “Download latest ESX file” button to begin downloading your ESX file.

For existing iGUIDEs:

If you would like to request an ESX file for an iGUIDE you haven't initially selected the Xactimate ESX add-on option for, please follow the instructions listed below:

  1. Find the iGUIDE by searching on the ‘My iGUIDEs’ page.

  2. Click on “Packages & Add-ons”.

  3. Click on the "Edit Add-ons" button.

  4. Check the box next to “Xactimate ESX”.

  5. Click “Enable”.

  6. Click the blue "Request" button.

  7. Now you can continue from step 3 from the instructions listed above.

Once the ESX File is Downloaded:

  • To import an ESX file into Xactimate, you can import it as a new Project, and once done, you can Drag and Drop the file into the Xactimate Software or manually select the file from your computer.

  • If you have an existing project for this ESX file, you can merge the existing project and the ESX file into one project on the right-hand side using the "merge" tool.

Q: Can I create an Instant Sketch from an iGUIDE Standard or Premium?

Q: Can I upgrade my Instant Sketch to something with more detail?

Q: How long does it take to get my Instant Sketch imported into Xactimate?

A: It should occur within minutes, although property size may impact the processing time.

Q: Can Instant Sketch be used for any type of property?

A: There is a size limit of 5,000 ft² and a scan limit of 75 scans.

Q: My token didn’t work. What do I do now?

A: Follow the instructions found in the Verisk Xactimate error message.

Q: Is the square footage of my Instant Sketch accurate?

A: Area calculations are approximate.

Q: Can I realign, add or remove data and reprocess my Instant Sketch?

A: Yes, you can re-upload data to an existing Instant Sketch and it will be reprocessed. This is useful for instances where you may not have captured enough data and wish to go back and add more. You may also wish to align data differently to improve your results.

Q: Parts of my Instant Sketch look strange, can I send it back to you to change it?

Q: What are the differences between the Xactimate ESX you get from a Standard iGUIDE vs. a Premium iGUIDE?

A: For Premium iGUIDEs only, the cabinets will be represented in the Xactimate ESX sketch file, and not for the Standard iGUIDE packages.

Q: How long will it take to get my ESX file delivered?

A: Simply request the ESX file during the creation process of a Standard or Premium iGUIDE or once the iGUIDE has been published and your file will be delivered within 24 hours. Excluding Sundays, holidays, and outside office hours (Mon-Fri 9 am-5 pm ET).

Q: How does the pricing work?

A: Xactimate ESX files are billed at $0.02/ft² USD. This is on top of the processing fee for a Standard or Premium iGUIDE which is between $0.02/ft² and $0.03/ft² USD respectively. This brings the total cost of Xactimate ESX files to between 0.04/ft² and 0.05/ft² for properties up to 10,000ft².

A:Yes, iGUIDE ESX files deduct for openings within the ESX file.

Q: Does iGUIDE complete the estimates as well?

A: iGUIDE focuses on creating the most accurate sketches on the market to be able to drop into Xactimate however we don’t complete the estimates.

Q: How do I get help with my Xactimate Sketch?
