R1 Connection information

QR Code Connection Method

1. Power on the R1 Camera

   • Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds. Release the button once the power light turns on.

After pressing the power button and seeing the light glow white, the system may take up to 20 seconds to fully start up.

1. Open the iGUIDE PLANIX App on your smartphone or tablet.

   • Google Play Store (Android)

   • App Store (Apple)

2. Once the camera is on, a QR code will appear on Theta's screen, as shown below.

   
3. If this is your first time using the app, complete the PLANIX App intro; after that, you will be taken to the Welcome screen.

The app may request permission to connect to devices on your local network for communication with the PLANIX R1 camera and permission to access your location to connect through Wi-Fi. Please allow access to proceed. Select Allow when prompted.

1. In the app, tap +New Device in the top right corner of the screen.

1. The app will display a Turn On Camera prompt. As we have already done this step, select Next in the bottom right corner.

1. If prompted, allow the PLANIX app to access your camera; when the camera is displayed on-screen, hold the square up to the QR code visible on the R1's screen to scan the QR code.

1. You will see a prompt appear stating Searching for Device. This shouldn't take long, and you will then be prompted to Connect to device - select Connect.

1. Once successfully connected, the QR code on the R1 camera screen will disappear, and the app will display a Connected” message.

1. You are now connected to the R1 camera and ready to begin scanning!

Manual Connection Method

1. Power on the R1 Camera

2. If this is your first time using the app, complete the PLANIX App intro; after that, you will be taken to the Welcome screen.

1. On your Device, go to your Wi-Fi Settings; once visible, connect to your PLANIX R1, the Wi-Fi name will look something like: PLANIX-0E5A5570.osc. The password for the Wi-Fi is on the bottom label of your device; see below for a sample:

   
2. In the app, tap +New Device in the top right corner of the screen.

   
3. When you select +New Device while connected to Wi-Fi, the app will ask if you wish to add the device; select Add Camera, and your system will be connected and ready to use!
