Property Industry & Address

Industry descriptions, settings differences when making a selection on the +Create iGUIDE page.

All users creating new iGUIDEs must first select a Property Industry. This is necessary for the iGUIDE Portal to apply settings that are better suited to each industry, as long as custom iGUIDE Default Settings have not already been saved at the account level. This choice is not critical since all the settings listed below can still be changed on the Create Page before uploading your Stitch data.

The settings under each Industry heading only apply if you have not yet changed your account-level iGUIDE Default Settings. Once you have changed your iGUIDE Default Settings, the below settings will no longer apply.

Industries

If you are unsure about what to choose, use the information below to determine what industry your iGUIDE belongs to (see Figure 1).

Real Estate Transaction

iGUIDEs of this type are usually private dwellings for sale or rent. They can include detached, semi-detached, and fully attached properties. Typically, these iGUIDEs are used for marketing purposes and should be publicly available and searchable online. Selecting this industry will default to the following settings:

• The Default View will use a unique URL that includes the property address.

• The Default View is public and is indexed by search engines. This means that if someone searches for the address using (e.g.) Google, they will encounter the iGUIDE 3D tour link in the search results.

• The Default View will be discoverable on the iGUIDE Map.

• RMS will be the measurement standard selected for Canada and other areas.

• ANSI will be the measurement standard selected for the United States.

Insurance & Restoration

iGUIDEs of this type are usually part of an insurance claim or have been damaged in some way (e.g., fire, flood) and need documentation to estimate the cost of damages and reconstruction. Whether the property is commercial or residential, select this option if it is being documented for insurance and restoration purposes. Typically, these iGUIDEs are used for visual inspection and measurement during the claims process and should be available to specified users and not the general public. Selecting this industry will default to the following settings:

• The Default View will use a unique URL that does not include the property address.

• The Default View is not indexed* by search engines. This means that if someone searches for the address using (e.g.) Google, they will not encounter the iGUIDE 3D tour link in the search results.

• The Default View will not be discoverable on the iGUIDE Map.

• RMS will be the measurement standard selected for Canada and other areas.

• ANSI will be the measurement standard selected for the United States.

Architecture & Remodel

iGUIDEs of this type include any building that will undergo a design, modification, or alteration. The primary output for this industry typically involves CAD drawings (e.g., DWG) to start the process. Other typical architecture, engineering, & construction activities include construction progress monitoring, project management, permit application, and stakeholder collaboration. Selecting this industry will default to the following settings:

• The Default View will use a unique URL that does not include the property address.

• The Default View is not indexed* by search engines. This means that if someone searches for the address using (e.g.) Google, they will not encounter the iGUIDE 3D tour link in the search results.

• The Default View will not be discoverable on the iGUIDE Map.

• RMS will be the measurement standard selected for Canada and other areas.

• ANSI will be the measurement standard selected for the United States.

DWG differences when selecting Architecture & Remodel

When Architecture & Remodel (A&R) is selected, your DWG add-on is optimized to meet common A&R requirements which requires additional drafting work and will result in a longer than normal delivery time than if selecting any other industry type. Choosing A&R will result in a few differences not stated in the Standard and Premium DWG deliverables, which are listed below. To optimize your DWG add-on for A&R uses, select Architecture & Remodel in the industry selector (see figure 1).

Unique DWG specifications when selecting A&R industries include:

• Interior walls for an A&R iGUIDE will be drafted to follow standardized dimensional lumber sizes. The Drafting Team will adjust interior wall thicknesses to align closer to common interior wall construction assemblies such as 4 ½” thick walls and 6 ½” thick walls. Uncommon interior construction assemblies or assemblies that cannot be determined will be drawn to the nearest ½” increment.

• Exterior walls for an A&R iGUIDE will be drafted to follow standardized dimensional lumber sizes, factoring in common cladding materials such as brick or siding. The Drafting Team will adjust the exterior wall thickness in the iGUIDE to make sense of floor-to-floor alignment and the relationship of floor-to-floor wall construction assemblies. With or without supporting exterior data captured by an iGUIDE camera system, the exterior wall widths will be adjusted cosmetically to support vertically aligning floors based on interior point cloud data.

Facility Management

iGUIDEs of this type are a mix of private and public spaces. Uses may include facility management, commercial sales, and retail. Selecting this industry will default to the following settings:

• The Default View will use a unique URL that does not include the property address.

• The Default View is not indexed* by search engines. This means that if someone searches for the address using (e.g.) Google, they will not encounter the iGUIDE 3D tour link in the search results.

• The Default View will not be discoverable on the iGUIDE Map.

• RMS will be the measurement standard selected for Canada and other areas.

• ANSI will be the measurement standard selected for the United States.

* The Default View may become indexed by search engines if someone with the link posts or shares the link online. Anyone with access to the unique URL will have access to the iGUIDE. Protect your iGUIDE to limit access to only permitted viewers.

Disabling the Address

iGUIDEs can now be created without including a property address. Selecting the "Disable Property Address" option will eliminate the need to complete required address fields and map tools for the iGUIDE. Refer to Figure 2 below to find the option to disable the property address.

Properties with no address must be uniquely identified with a number or name chosen when creating the iGUIDE. This iGUIDE will not be indexable (found on public search platforms). A Property Reference is required to give the property an identifiable name for the customer and support teams' convenience.

If you disable the property address, all map features will be disabled for the iGUIDE any address functionality will not be able to be added once the iGUIDE is created.
