Ceiling Height/Vertical Measuring

Vertical Measuring

Vertical measurement for ceiling height is now possible in Stitch. This data can be exported from Stitch and will appear in the iGUIDE report. To get the best results, use a panorama with a clear and unobstructed view of the wall in both the image and laser data. Choose a wall that is flat from the top to the bottom, where the laser data is not noisy or changes surfaces, and that is not too far from the camera (ideally about 4ft/120cm).

To start measuring in Stitch:

  1. Double-click the top position of the desired wall on the panorama preview image. A red cross will appear on the image to indicate the chosen position. See Figure 1.

  2. Double-click the bottom position of the desired wall on the panorama preview image. A red cross will appear on the image to indicate the chosen position. See Figure 2.

  3. Save the measurement as the floor’s ceiling height if desired.

You can measure ceiling heights as many times as you like. Any subsequent measurements that are taken and saved will overwrite the previously saved value. The ceiling height can also be adjusted manually by clicking on the floor name and entering a value for Ceiling Height under Settings.
